Cognitive Labs Announces Free Memory
Test for Veterans
Mountain View, CA - (PR Web) November 11, 2004—On this Veterans Day,
Cognitive Labs, a
software company developing Internet technologies for screening and
monitoring cognitive performance, announced that it would immediately
make available free memory test for veterans at
Veteransmemorycheck.com. There, veterans are directed on how to take
their free memory test, which compares their results in a series of
scientifically-developed tests with hundreds of thousands of results
already received. Based on performance, the visitor gets a quick
"snapshot" of their cognitive performance. If the user desires, they
can discuss the test with professionals and see if further consultation
is warranted, or enroll in one of several inexpensive programs costing
a few cents per day to track and monitor their cognitive performance
over time.
The Cognitive Labs web service is a highly usable and scientifically
validated application for detecting and monitoring memory loss
over time, while improving concentration. From the New England Journal
of Medicine to WebMD, and as cited in numerous scientific studies, the
benefits of cognitive activity as people age are becoming increasingly
clear.
Cognitive Labs produces and syndicates a network of newsletters, sites,
and blogs, and works with affiliate partners that distribute news,
information, and interactive tools about Alzheimer's
Disease, Memory Loss, and Human Cognition. In the first three quarters
of 2004, cognitivecare.com has given tens of thousands of memory tests
for health-conscious consumers, researchers, and pharmaceutical
clients.
"Since veterans have given so much to the Country, now it is time to
give something back. We partner with the scientific community leading
the charge in fighting memory loss and Alzheimer's and are working
closely with scientists to make a positive difference in people's lives
and eventually, bring this approach to people everywhere," said
Cognitive Labs CEO Michael
Addicott.
"Our programs
featuring MemCheck (TM), a powerful tool that can help people detect,
monitor, and make positive changes in memory over time, based on sound
science, have become increasingly popular."
Recently, the company presented a paper at the Society of Neuroscience
in San Diego, featuring the effective use of its web application
software in
administering a large scale-clinical trial to hundreds of participants
while also providing an objective measure of changes in cognition over
time via a secure n-tier architecture for both control and placebo
groups.
In addition to clinical trial research services, visitors to
cognitivecare.com, the company’s secured test site can
purchase an
annual subscription to MemCheck and access all services for $69.95. For
$9.95 per month, subscribers get MemCheck and MemWatch, helping them
perform periodic check-ups of their memory while comparing their
results to a baseline of scores from an ever-increasing number of
users, combined with memory and cognitive enhancing games. The company
has enrolled over 985,000 members since inception. Search and Affiliates are instrumental in the fast
